Things to do

The theme of the project "Euro Angels" is the devising of instruments for a rapid diffusion at limited cost of the information and competence necessary for small and medium-sized businesses to complete the transition to the Euro in the best way possible.

The diffusion of information and competence is obtained by a specific training of young people who are about to commence their working career within the SME's and through the supply of a free consulting and information activity for a considerable number of SME's on the part of the same young people in training.

These activities will be supported by the elaboration and diffusion of paper and electronic informative instruments.

The project "Euro Angels" will be articulated, in particular, in 3 principal phases:
research
training
consultancy

Research

The phase of research is preliminary to the detailed project design and to the execution of the successive three phases. It consists in an enquiry conducted with two integrated instruments:
  1. a series of interviews to privileged participants which will consent the obtaining of general indications on the problems that the introduction of the Euro presents for the small and medium-sized companies and on the initiatives that these have posed or are posing in dealing with them. This interviews, other than supplying directly useful elements of expertise, will consent the drawing up of the questionnaire necessary for the execution of the second part of the survey;
  2. b) four telephone surveys carried out on samples representative of small and medium-sized businesses located in the areas of activity of the four partners involved in the project.

Results of the survey will be information on the points of force and weaknesses of the small and medium-sized businesses in the areas considered with reference to the introduction of the Euro which will permit the drawing up of an adequate training, consultancy and support plan for the businesses which constitute the successive two phases of the project.

Training

During the month of April, based on the results of the research and the discussion conducted in the second transnational meeting, the training course will be elaborated in detail and the didactic materials will be prepared. The training course will then be run as an experiment at the "Scuola Scienze Aziendali" of Florence. At the end of the course, the third transnational meeting will be held, in which a first evaluation will be effected of the running and the results.

Consultancy

The young "Euro Angels" will begin their activity of consultancy in the small and medium-sized businesses at the end of their training course.

Such activities will take the form of meetings with the management and administrative staff of the businesses during the course of which the problems connected with the introduction of the Euro will be analysed as observed in the specific company reality and possible solutions will be proposed.

For the most difficult cases, the Euro Angels will be able to make use of a support service furnished by the senior consultants at the School. Each meeting will last 3 days. From such consultancy activity we expect important results:

  1. the sensibilisation and information of the company management on problems connected with the transition to the Euro and the solution of specific company problems;
  2. the acquisition on the part of the young "Euro Angels" of a noteable amount of experience which will be fully used at the moment of their entry into the companies where try find employment;
  3. the verification of the efficacy of the training course and the gathering of information useful for its perfection.
The finalising of the training course will be carried out during the fourth transnational meeting, which will be held in the month of September, when a large part of the consultancy activity will have already been carried out and the elements gathered will thus be sufficient to formulate evaluations and proposals for modification to the training programme.

At the end of this phase, the training course will be able to be reproduced by the three partners.
